How it works

How a pickup actually goes

Four steps, and no surprise in the middle of any of them.

  1. Tell us what you have

Call, text a photo, or fill in the form. A photo of the pile is worth ten minutes of describing it, and it is usually enough for us to get you within range on the phone.

  2. We look at it in person

We turn up at the agreed window, look at the actual volume and the actual access, and give you one price for the whole job. That happens before anything is loaded, and it is free whether you go ahead or not.

  3. You say yes, we load

If the price works, we start there and then in most cases. You do not lift anything and nothing needs to be at the curb — we carry it from wherever it is sitting.

  4. We sweep up and sort it out

The space gets swept before we leave. Then the load gets separated at our end: donation, metal recycling, e-waste, and only what is genuinely left over goes to the transfer station.

A load being sorted for donation and recycling Sorted, not just dumped If you need a donation receipt for tax purposes, ask before we load and we will get one back to you.

Where it goes

Not everything you are done with is finished

A truck that drives straight to the transfer station every time is the easy way to run this business. We sort the load instead, because most of what comes out of a garage still works.

Furniture in good condition, working appliances, tools, bikes and unopened household goods get set aside on the truck and routed to donation rather than dumped. Metal goes to a scrap recycler. Electronics go to an e-waste handler who is licensed to take them.

What is left — the genuinely broken, the soaked, the moldy — goes to the transfer station, because that is where it belongs. We are not going to claim a diversion rate we cannot show you.

  • Donated

Usable furniture, appliances, tools and household goods go to local donation partners.

  • Recycled

Metal, appliances and electronics go to scrap and e-waste recyclers, not landfill.

  • Disposed properly

What is genuinely finished goes to a licensed transfer station, with the fees paid.

Pricing

How a junk removal price is worked out

We quote on site, free, before anything is loaded. Here is what the number is actually made of, so you can sanity-check ours against anyone else's.

Volume

How much space it fills in the truck, measured as a fraction of the load — not by the item count. Ten light boxes cost less than one sectional.

Weight

Transfer stations charge us by the ton. Concrete, tile, soil and plaster are the heavy ones, and they price differently from an equivalent volume of furniture.

Disposal category

Fridges, mattresses, tires and electronics carry their own fees at the facility, because they have to be handled separately by law.

Labor and access

A third-floor walk-up, a long carry from a back yard, or a shed that has to be cut apart takes longer than a garage you can back up to.

What the price does not include is a surprise. The number we give you standing in your driveway is the number on the invoice, unless you add something to the pile — and then we tell you what it changes before we load it.

Questions

Frequently asked

It depends on how much space the load takes up in the truck, how heavy it is, and whether anything in it carries its own disposal fee — fridges, mattresses, tires and electronics all do. That is why we do not publish a price list. We come out, look at it, and give you one number for the whole job before anything is loaded, free, whether you go ahead or not.

For the estimate, ideally yes, so we are both looking at the same pile. After that, no — plenty of our work is done from a lockbox for landlords and out-of-state executors, and we send photos when it is finished.

Most jobs get booked within two or three days, and we hold slots each morning for same-day calls. Ring before 2pm and we will tell you straight away whether a truck is genuinely free, rather than promising and rescheduling you.

No, and please do not hurt yourself trying. We carry it from wherever it is sitting — the attic, the basement, the back yard, the third floor. The lifting is what you are paying for.

The load gets sorted rather than driven straight to a hole in the ground. Furniture in good condition, working appliances, tools and household goods go to donation. Metal goes to a scrap recycler and electronics go to a licensed e-waste handler. What is genuinely broken or soaked goes to the transfer station, with the fees paid.

Very little. Paint, stains, household chemicals and appliances with refrigerant in them all come with us — those are usually the reason a garage never gets cleared, because the town will not take them at the curb. The three we cannot handle are medical and biohazard waste, asbestos or anything suspected of containing it, and contaminated soil or debris. Each of those needs a licensed specialist, and we will point you at the right one.

Both. New Jersey requires an A901 solid waste transporter license to haul junk, and ours is NJDEP #0042968 — it is worth asking any hauler for theirs, because plenty of cheaper outfits do not hold one and the liability for where your waste ends up follows the property, not the truck. We are also fully insured, and we will send a certificate of insurance before we arrive if your property manager needs one on file.

We cover Central New Jersey, including Bridgewater, Raritan and Green Brook Township, and the towns in between. If you are just outside the list, call and ask — sometimes we are already going to be nearby that day.

Single items are fine and we do them every week. There is a minimum charge that covers the truck, the fuel and the disposal fee, and we will tell you what it is on the phone before you book.

Yes. We cut them down where they stand into pieces two people can carry, walk them out to the truck, and rake the pad clear of nails and screws afterwards. The truck does not need to get into the yard.
